The main theme of SJS 2026 will be academia \u2013 industry collaboration from the perspective of both parties. Thus, we will have translation teachers\/scholars and industry partners sharing their viewpoints on selected aspects of collaboration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registered participants will be emailed <\/strong>the link to the meeting, and closer to the event we will be sending out the meeting <strong>schedule.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SJS 2026 Guest Speakers\/Contributors<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Agenor Hofmann-Delbor<\/strong> (localize.pl, chief executive): <em>A perspective on employers&#8217; expectations towards translators and language professionals<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Alexandra Krause<\/strong> (senior lecturer at the University of Vienna and an EMT board member; she leads EMT working group 2 <em>Industry, visibility and outreach<\/em>): <em>The collaboration between the EMT (European Master\u2018s in Translation) and the language industry<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Joseph Lambert<\/strong> (researcher and academic teacher at the University of Cardiff and an associate editor for the Interpreter and Translator Trainer journal) and <strong>Sara Robertson<\/strong> (chief executive of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting): <em>Reflections on the potential of collaboration: ITI, APTIS, and the UK context as a case study<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Anna Moh\u00e1csi-Gorove<\/strong> (senior training manager at memoQ): <em>MemoQ&#8217;s collaboration with academia<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>on ACADEMIA \u2013 INDUSTRY COLLABORATION To continue with the now-well-established tradition of celebrating International Translation Day with St Jerome\u2019s Symposium (SJS) on 30 September each year, this year\u2019s event (SJS 2026) will be held online from 16.00 to 17.30 (CEST, UTC +2).
