2nd CTER Congress 14-15 March 2019, Krakow

cter2019We are pleased to inform that the 2nd CTER Congress, organised by the Consortium for Translation Education Research, will be held on 14th-15th March 2019 in Krakow, Poland. We are sorry to have modified the original date, yet we had to do so due to organisational reasons. The lead theme of the conference is Complexity and Dispersion in Translation Pedagogy.

Translation and Performative Practices: Tartu, 13-15 Dec 2018

Translation in History – History in Translation 2018

The second international summer school on Translation History in Vienna will be held on 12-19th September, 2018 in Vienna. The event will be organised by the Centre for Translation Studies at the University of Vienna.

Issue 4 of TETS Journal out now!

mag_cover2The latest issue of our academic journal, entitled The Journal of Translator Education and Translation Studies, has just been published.

Issue 4 of the journal (dated December 2017) is out now, and another is due out in March 2018. The Academic Editor of the journal is Prof.  Maria Piotrowska (Jagiellonian University), and the Editor-in-Chief is dr Mariusz Marczak (Jagiellonian University).

CTER Seminar for Translation Teachers 2017

The Consortium for Translation Education Research (CTER) is pleased to announce the CTER Training Seminar for Translation Teachers with the endorsement of the European Society for Translation Studies (EST), which will be held at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków on 26th-30th June 2017 (Monday-Friday).

The seminar training sessions will be led by renowned translator educators, including Anthony Pym (Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona), Maureen Ehrensberger-Dow (Zurich University of Applied Sciences), Gary Massey (Zurich University of Applied Sciences) and Christina Schaeffner (Aston University, Birmingham).

First CTER Congress 2016

1a21st CTER Congress was held on 14th-16th March 2016 under the title Inspirations for Translation Pedagogy. It gathered 70 participants, including CTER members, candidates for members and our guest speakers: prof. Christine Schaeffner and Prof. Anthony Pym (President of the European Society for Translation Studies). The event was a great opportunity to exchange expertise and experience in the field of translation pedagogy, both during the presentation sessions as well as behind the scenes.
