Recent perspectives that challenge anthropocentric worldviews similarly call for rethinking paradigms in translation studies that privilege human meaning-making over other modes of existence. These perspectives expand understandings of translation by shifting attention away from the anthropocentric circulation of meaning and situating translation within broader interspecies interactions. In this context, reexamining established assumptions about translation requires conceptualizing translational activity as embedded in the multilayered relations among human and nonhuman beings, knowledge systems, social practices, and technological instruments. The notion of "beyond human translation" thus offers a productive horizon for theoretical and applied inquiry, fostering new forms of problematization and encouraging interdisciplinary engagement.
