The objective of the EACT project (2019-2022), financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (PGC2018-094275-B-I00), is to establish evaluation procedures for different levels of acquisition of Translation Competence (TC) in undergraduate translation degrees in Spain. Seventeen researchers from six universities are participating in EACT: Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Universidad de Granada, Universitat Jaume I, Universidad de País, Vasco y Universidade de Vigo, and the University of Westminster (UK).

We kindly invite you to the eleventh conference in the series Language in the Third Millennium. The conferences so far (2000-2018) have been held in Polish only. This time, however, the conference will be international, with presentations delivered in both English and Polish. The event will be held on 25-27 March in Krakow, Poland (Wednesday-Friday).

In commemoration of International Translation Day, on 30t
h September 2019, the Consortium for Translation Education Research (CTER) and the Chair for Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication organised the symposium and round-table discussion on “The Identity of the Translator – the Identity of Translation Studies”.
The symposium was held in Jagiellonian University’s Collegium Paderevianum, located at al. Mickiewicza 9a in Kraków, Poland and was an opportunity to discuss the status of Translation Studies in the European and Polish academic context.
